Pricing Policy

Pricing policy Strategy

Our pricing policy structure is meticulously crafted, considering various factors such as the components comprising a package, operational margins crucial for our business sustainability, competitive market rates, value-added features in our offerings, and the impact of international exchange rates. Given the complexity of exchange rates, this document aims to elucidate our approach to setting cross-currency prices and managing fluctuations between invoicing and payment dates.

Rates and Prices

In the realm of travel, “rates” typically refer to the individual expenses associated with a travel package, including accommodations, vehicle rentals, or guide fees, which may vary based on seasons or group sizes. Conversely, “prices” generally encapsulate the aggregated cost of these components, tailored into a comprehensive package. Our prices and rates are quoted in USD, considering that suppliers in East Africa and most African nations transact in United States Dollars (USD), while South Africa operates in South African Rand (ZAR), and many West African countries prefer Euros (EUR).

Currency Conversion

Irrespective of the currency in which our suppliers charge us—be it South African Rand, Botswana Pula, Uganda Shilling, or others—we automatically convert all prices to USD using prevailing exchange rates. This uniform currency facilitates seamless comparison of tour and package prices across different destinations.

Quoting Process

When generating a tour quote, we accommodate your currency preference, ensuring that the final quote reflects your bank’s exchange rate at the time of invoice processing. If your itinerary is costed in one currency but quoted in another, we incorporate a clause accounting for significant rate fluctuations, typically within a range of 2.5% either way. This approach ensures fair pricing while mitigating currency risks for both parties. However, please note that prices on our website serve as estimates and benchmarks, providing a USD approximation based on prevailing exchange rates.

Exchange Rate Methodology

For currency conversions, we rely on reputable sources such as www.oanda.com or www.xe.com, utilizing our bank’s “Buy Transfer” rate when quoting. Any necessary adjustments due to exchange rate fluctuations are calculated based on this rate.

Price Guidelines

Our price guides showcase indicative and approximate rates, reflecting the lowest possible cost for each tour while adhering to acceptable standards of accommodation, transportation, activities, services, and routes. However, it’s important to recognize that the final tour price may vary based on several factors, including:

  1. Seasonality of travel (peak or off-peak)
  2. Tour duration
  3. Accommodation standards and preferences
  4. Guided versus unguided tour options
  5. Economies of scale, influenced by group size
  6. Additional activities, excursions, and services offered

In essence, our pricing policy strategy prioritizes transparency, flexibility, and fairness, ensuring that your travel experience aligns seamlessly with your preferences and budgetary considerations.
